India-UAE flights to remain suspended until further notice

UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced that inbound passenger traffic from India would remain suspended until further notice.

Referring to this, an official in the know-how stated, “As far as inbound passenger traffic from India is concerned, the status quo remains. He added that they are closely monitoring the situation in India, and that the decision on when to lift the suspension on inbound travellers will be taken keeping in mind the safety and security of all parties involved. As of now, there are no new developments on this front.

Earlier, on 24, GCAA and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) suspended all inbound flights for national and international carriers coming from India.

The travel suspension will include all inbound transit passengers, with exception of transit flights that are heading to India and coming to the United Arab Emirates. Previously, the GCAA stated that UAE diplomatic missions and nationals, official delegations, golden residence holders, and businessmen’s planes are excluded from the decision, provided that take all preventive measures, including RT-PCR test, a mandatory 10-day quarantine, along with undergoing another test on the fourth and eighth days of entering the country.

However, both UAE and Indian airlines are looking forward to resume flight operations from July 6 onwards, which might likely be extended as per the current scenario.

India’s national carrier also recently tweeted in response to a customer query, “In view of travel restrictions announced by the UAE government, flights between India and UAE are suspended till July 6, 2021. Please keep a watch on our Twitter handle and website for further updates”
